Our Vision

Aim 1

Through our embedded values and ethos, it is our aim that by the time the children leave Holland House Infant School and Nursery to embark on the next stage of their education, they are equipped with the academic knowledge and skills, and have developed the personal attributes needed to enable them to become successful citizens of the future. We set the foundations for a life-long love of learning so that our children are ambitious to achieve their best and are proud of all their successes. (as we are for them)

Aim 2

Our curriculum is sufficiently balanced, accessible and ambitious, which also enables children's cultural capital to be broadened through experiences that encourage wonder, achievement, togetherness and ambition. We want our children to be happy and experience a childhood filled with wonderful memories of school and a love of learning that continues to burn bright into their future world. Our curriculum is planned and sequenced so that new knowledge and skills build on what has come before. It is our aim that Our Curriculum actively encourages children to discover their talents and passions, igniting their aspirations for the future.

Aim 3

The academic learning is underpinned by a strong emphasis on personal, character development. Our values permeate through everything we do, and how we behave towards one another, to ensure a safe, caring and happy school where children feel valued and educated. As a Rights Respecting School, they learn responsibility and develop a strong moral    compass so they understand and value their place in the world whilst respecting the differences that we have. It helps create a moral framework, based on equality and respect for all that lasts a lifetime, as they grow into engaged, responsible members of society. Their sense of self-worth and worth of others is strengthened through our golden thread of wellbeing that runs through our curriculum approach.

Aim 4

All children to receive the best possible teaching and leadership in every classroom, everyday, ensuring staff receive high quality professional development, promote inspirational teaching and show ambition for every child in Holland House Infant School and Nursery.

Aim 5

We take pride in being a family at Holland House. We build strong and positive partnerships with families, the Sutton Coldfield community and within the Broadleaf Partnership Trust to promote a strong sense of belonging and collaboration for the benefit of all.

Article 28 (right to education)
Every child has the right to an education. Primary education must be free and different forms of secondary education
must be available to every child. Discipline in schools must respect children’s dignity and their rights. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.

Article 29 (goals of education)
Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect
for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

Article 31 (leisure, play and culture)
Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
